After both the BJP, with 32 seats, and AAP, with 28 seats, refused to stake claim (the Rajnath Singh-led party has already conveyed its intentions to the Lieutenant Governor, AAP will do so on Saturday), the capital is set to come under President’s rule and have elections subsequently.

AAP has already declared that it plans to contest Lok Sabha polls, although it may not field candidates at all seats.

AAP has re-opened its online donation facility and, again, got a huge response. The party has been flooded with people coming forward to join as members and volunteers. “We have also asked those who fought the recent elections to start the door-to-door campaign again,” said Manish Sisodia, AAP spokesperson.

The party is now focusing on assessment and how to reorganise its resources. Rather than rushing into things in view of the little time left for the Lok Sabha polls, AAP said it would take time to think and go ahead in a planned manner.

On whether if AAP will persist with its candidates for the recent polls, Gupta said the decision too would be taken by the sub-committee (of the political affairs committee).
