Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Manish Sisodia will hold a meeting in the Patparganj area on Sunday to come up with a manifesto for his constituency ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections in November.
Party leader Arvind Kejriwal has already kick-started the process in New Delhi, from where he would contest the Assembly elections.
This step is keeping in tune with the party’s earlier announcement of 71 manifestos for Delhi — one common and 70 others, one for each constituency. Common minimum contents from all 70 manifestos will go on to make the final manifesto for the national Capital.
For this, the AAP has started doing ‘nukkad sabhas’ (street corner meetings) and are also going door-to-door asking people about issues that they think should be included in the manifestos. Sisodia will hold the first meeting of his constituency at West Vinod Nagar on Sunday.
Sisodia said: “Unfortunately, in today’s times the duty of a common man has been reduced to voting once in five years. After elections, people are made to run from pillar to post for getting even basic issues sorted out. We wish to encourage people to participate in democracy and one of the ways is by involving people in manifesto making process.”
Kejriwal has held several ‘nukkad sabhas’ in the New Delhi Assembly constituency, from where he is hoping to take on chief minister Sheila Dikshit. In Phase I, he has planned about 30-odd meetings.

On Sunday, Kejriwal and other party leaders will attend a rally near the Nawada Metro station.
