However, they were not co-operating with the investigations and giving misleading information, the inspector said.

Inspector MS Parthyl was produced as a prosecution witness by the CBI and was cross-examined by the lawyer of the two accused, Dr Rajesh Talwar and Dr Nupur Talwar.

Parthyl was part of the first team of the CBI, who took over the probe from the Noida police in 2008. During his cross-examination, Parthyl said he did not know whether the three previous accused had admitted to their crime.

When countered by the defence lawyers whether the three previous suspects had admitted to their crime or not, Parthyl said, “It had come to my knowledge that although these three persons had admitted to their crime, they were not co-operating with the investigations and were giving misleading information.”
