Abdur Razzaq got a chance to debut in the A-team in the five-day ODI series against Zimbabwe in 2004. He made use of the chance by taking 15 wickets, including a match winning 7 for 17 in the third match.

Razzaq was left out of the Champions Trophy in England in 2004. In 2006, he made his Test debut against Australia on a turning track at Chittagong, but failed to take a wicket.
