The district and session judge ML Katulakar hearing the case in Korba was annoyed at the failure of the district administration and police to produce the case diary during the court proceeding.

“The court expressed its unhappiness and had issued notices to the district collector and SP directing them to make available the case diary on January 18 failing which it would be deemed as contempt of the court,” BK Shukla, counsel appearing for the Chinese employees told HT.

The three employees of Shandong Electric Power Construction Corporation (Sepco) — project incharge Wu Chunnan, two civil engineers Wang Weiqing and Liu Gaokuan — were arrested on Monday in connection with a chimney collapse that killed 45 workers in Korba, Chhattisgarh, last September.
