ACB unearths disproportionate assets worth over Rs one crore

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on friday unearthed disproportionate assets worth over Rs one crore, which allegedly belonged to an official in the Public Works Division at Khairatabad here.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on friday unearthed disproportionate assets worth over Rs one crore, which allegedly belonged to an official in the Public Works Division at Khairatabad here.

M Sudarshan, a senior assistant in the Regional Workshop and Mechanical Division at the office of Executive Engineer (PWD) landed in the ACB net after simultaneous searches were conducted at different places, including his office and residence at Hyderabad, an ACB release said.

Movable and immovable assets including three houses, a plot and 4.3 acres of agricultural land owned by the accused and his family members worth Rs 1.04 crore, were unearthed during the raids, the release said.

The searches also unearthed Rs 45,000 cash, gold ornaments and other household articles.

The ACB has registered a case of disproportionate assets against the official and searches are in progress, it added.
