During the tenure of deputy CM Tara Chand as minister for housing and urban development, the allegations of illegal appointments were levelled against him. And the allegations on Saroori, the then R&B minister, were illegal allotment of construction works to contractors.

Tahir Shamasi, advocate for both Chand and Saroori, while informing about the decision of commission, has said that the state accountability commission comprising Justice YP Nargotra (chairman) and Justice Imtiyaz Hussain (member) has dismissed both the cases.

The commission, while closing the inquiry, has pointed out that despite various hearings, the complainant remained absent. A notice was also issued to him for appearance, but the same has already been received back with the endorsement that no such person is traceable on the address given.

"In view of the continuous absence of the complainant, it appears that he is not interested in the prosecution of the complaint. It is as such dismissed in default of the complainant and the enquiry is closed," observed the commission.
