The two brothers, accused of allegedly blackmailing and extorting money and jewellery from their 16-year-old classmate, had filed an application with the Charkop police on Saturday alleging that the victim's father had been accusing them of extortion.
As per the police complaint, the accused — Kavish Madan (18) and Karan Madan (18), who are twins, were allegedly the 16-
year-old girl's friends and extorted more than Rs 3 lakh and two gold bangles from her.
The application stated that the accused and the victim had decided to go for a party, as they hadn't met for a long time.
Thus, the trio decided to contribute money for the get-together.
It read, "After a few days, the girl's father began to blame and threaten us through phone." As per the application, the girl's father demanded that the accused return Rs 2.5 lakh immediately and allegedly pressurised them for the same.
"She is not telling the truth about what actually happened," the application stated.
