The reluctance of an actress, (who complained of 'sexual harassment and exploitation' by a film producer of Meerut), to give a statement to the police or to provide any evidence to support her allegations against the producer-director, has further complicated the first case of its kind in Meerut.

The 'heroine' of a low budget film Archi Arora (name changed) had lodged a complaint, not with the police, but a news channel about her alleged exploitation by the producer/director, who was reportedly forcing her to work in a sleazy film to get her dues cleared. However, she has refused to give any statement or meet any member of the inquiry team constituted by Meerut SSP Navneet Sikera on the directives of the Meerut range DIG.

Interestingly, the channel, which has been airing her 'tale of woe' for the last two days, sent a fax message to the Meerut SSP's office, requesting police help for the girl to realise her dues from the producer/ director.

Talking to HT on phone, Meerut DIG SP Singh contradicted the girl's claim that she met the DIG, who refused to help her.

The producer/director, however, refuted all the allegations, attributing the girl's outburst to her removal from the film. He also denied that any objectionable scene was shot with her.
