A group of such professors accompanied by Janbhagidari Samiti members Pradeep Kaushal and Sudeep Verma approached the press on this matter on Friday.

The disgruntled professors accused Dhakad of removing them from service before the expiry of their eight-month contract and that too without notice.

The Samiti members concurring with the professors alleged discrepancy on the part of Dhakad and questioned his highhanded manner in making appointments and removals.

The visiting professors had been appointed for teaching various subjects in the college already facing a crunch of teaching staff.

The professors had been appointed on July 11 and removed on November 1. This is the first time that so many visiting professors have been removed en-masse.

Dhakad on his part defended his decision stating that, as exams are held during this time not much teaching staff is required. He argued on the contention that when the college could manage with its own set of regular employees there was no need to pay the large number of visiting faculty and thus incur avoidable expenses.
