LIKE NAGAR Nigam, Allahabad Development Authority (ADA) has too started working on preparing rules and schemes for management of its parks in the city area.
Sources at ADA said that rules are being prepared in the light of Allahabad High Court directives that has asked Nagar Nigam and ADA to prepare these rules and scheme and place the draft rules before the court on July 31, 2006.
The court has directed ADA to restore and develop the parks under its management particularly the Traffic Park and Hathi Park. The court also expects categorical statement from ADA on these being restored and maintained as ideal 'Parks'. As far as PD Tandon Park is concerned a report has been submitted on behalf of ADA.
Sources said that ADA officers had already informed the court that detailed project for two-tier underground parking at PD Tandon Park as well as development of a beautiful park there has been sent to the Principal Secretary, Nagar Vikas, Government of Uttar Pradesh, for consideration. The government is likely to release the fund by this month.
CB Yadav, Chief Standing Counsel, UP has also submitted in the court that the required steps have been taken for allocation of appropriate funds as per the project report and he expects that adequate order and allocation shall be done by the State Government before the next date of hearing--July 31, 2006.
Meanwhile, SK Bandopadhyay, Joint General Manager, IFFCO, has assured that Hathi Park shall be uplifted and maintained to the expectation of all. IFFCO has filed a report of the works undertaken for uplifting the Hathi Park.

{{/usCountry}}Importantly, the court has directed the SSP Allahabad and the District Administration to provide security to ensure that Hathi Park is duly protected and law and order maintained.
Source said that Chief Standing Counsel in the court pointed out that compliance of court's order in the matter of removal of encroachment, restoration of parks, etc will be seriously jeopardised in case there is break in office of VC, ADA and that Raja Ram Upadhyay, ADA VC, has made genuine efforts to implement court order during his short tenure of a couple of months.
