ADB team arriving on Oct 11

AN ASIAN Development Bank (ADB) team is slated to arrive in the City on October 11 to review progress on phase three of the Narmada, the Devgradia landfill site and other other civic infrastructure tasks being carried out under the Urban Water Supply and Environment Improvement Project.

Meanwhile, the first of the 11-odd track-type bulldozers ordered by the IMCV under the solid waste component of the ADB-assisted USWEI Project landed at the IMC headquarters today.

Mayor Dr Uma Shashi Sharma performed aarti on the 90 HP bulldozer with a price tag of Rs 46 lakh at the IMC workshop watched on by ADB Project Management Consultant Philip Fields, Additional Municipal Commissioner Kumar Purshottam, Secretary JC Galar and Chief Municipal Health Officer Dr AK Puranik.

Earlier, Fields told Dr Puranik that the ADB was also planning a series of seminars on solid waste management disposal in all four cities benefiting from fiscal assistance from the ADB. The first of these, he added, would be organised in Indore.
