Transfer orders of these officials were issued on Sunday.

The district level transfers carried out by the Narendra Modi administration is seen as part of the overhaul in the state administration ahead of next year’s crucial assembly polls in December 2012. Besides, many of the officials transferred had served for more than three years’ stint in their present job.

The junior level officials reshuffle is likely to be followed by overhaul in the state secretariat with transfer of secretary and principal secretary level officials.

When contacted, Gujarat chief secretary AK Joti said, “It’s a routine exercise in the state apparatus.”

Among those transferred are Gandhinagar collector Sanjeev Kumar, Ahmedabad collector Hareet Shukla, Mehsana collector Ajay Bhadoo, Vadodara collector Vijay Nehra and Rajkot collector HS Patel.

HS Patel has been made managing director of South Gujarat Electricity Company while tribal development commissioner Shahmeena Hussain has been made secretary (coordination) in the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL).

Panchmahal collector Milind Toravane has been made managing director of Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company in the state rural development department while present incumbent from the company Vinod Rao has been made collector of Vadodara.

Presently serving as DDO Avantika Singh Aulakh, Sandhya Bhullar and Manish Chandra have been posted as collectors in Anand, Navsari and Panchmahal respectively.
