Admiral Contractor is new Coast Guard Chief

Vice Admiral Rustom Faramoze Contrator today took over as the new Director General of the Coast Guard.

With his appointment, the Director General's post has reverted back to Navy. Contractor succeeds Dr P Paleri who had risen to the top post from the Coast Guard ranks.

Contractor, a highly decorated naval officer has the distinction of commanding Navy's lethal missile destoryers INS Rajput and INS Ranvijay as well as the Aircraft Carrier INS Virat.

In another appointment, Lt Gen Prakash S Chaudhary has taken over as the new Director General of the National Cadet Corps. He takes over from Lt Gen M Bhandari who retired.
