CHHATRAPATI SHAHU Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU) should introduce a system of combined admission form for all the colleges on the pattern of Delhi University to avoid fiscal harassment of admission seekers. This demand was raised by the parents and guardians here today.

Some of the parents told that due to uncertainty of admission in a particular college their wards have applied at different colleges for admission. At each college, they had to buy a separate admission form, which was available on payment from Rs 25 to Rs 60.
Mohan Raizada said that her daughter, who has secured first class marks, was not sure of her admission at the college of her first choice and had to purchase admission forms of at least three more colleges. Thus, only on forms Rs 260 were spent. Had it been a combined admission system the admission seekers had not to waste time and money in getting the admission forms from different colleges.Under the single form system, the students would have required to pay not more than Rs 100 for an admission form.
This form would have assured them the possibilities of admission in more than one or two colleges. Besides, the admissions could have also been made on the real merit basis at every college, he said.

Parents and the guardians of the students said that in the wake of rising number of aided and un-aided degree colleges, it has become necessary to introduce a uniform admission system.
This would help the aided colleges and the colleges in the self-financed sector to get equal number of students on merit basis. This system would also ensure the equal distribution of students with second or the third divisions in each college and also discourage the concentration of meritorious students at a single college, they said.
Meanwhile, long queues were witnessed at all the prestigious aided colleges of the city for admission forms. Very few students were seen at the un-aided colleges for the admission forms. Higher fee structure of the un-aided colleges and inadequate facilities there, discouraged the students in seeking admission at these colleges.
However, the middlemen engaged by the un-aided colleges were active to procure a good number of students for the colleges, which have hired their service. These agents not only depict a rosy picture of the un-aided college, but also help them to reach to the college by using their cars free of cost.
