Admn holds meeting for election of panchayat chiefs
THE DISTRICT administration held a meeting with the members of Zila Panchayat to discuss the norms of forthcoming elections for the post Zila Panchayat president, for which polling would take place on January 7, 2006 .Out of total 27 Panchayat members, 16 of them attended the meeting including four representatives. The meeting was chaired by district magistrate Deepak Kumar. Kumar acknowledged the norms to be followed during the election for president of Zila Panchyat.

Out of total 27 Panchayat members, 16 of them attended the meeting including four representatives. The meeting was chaired by district magistrate Deepak Kumar. Kumar acknowledged the norms to be followed during the election for president of Zila Panchyat.
Kumar said that while filing of nomination papers, the candidate, his proposer and approver have to affix their photograph on the nomination papers. The other major issue discussed was that if any one need any personnel assistant for help in election proceedings, then he or she has to request before 72 hours, i.e. by the evening of January 3,2006, as per the present election schedule, said Kumar.
The voters, while casting their vote, have to give their preferences in English numerical as per their choice. The panchayat members were informed about the expenditure limit for candidates contesting for president post of Zila Panchayat and same was fixed Rs 1 lakh. Besides, only one vehicle would be allowed for canvassing to candidates.
Kumar told about all other necessary norms to the participants at meeting. He further said that all election formalities would be done from the Collectorate, however, voting and counting place had been changed and it would be conference hall of Collectorate.
The another meeting was held with the representative of political parties with district administration at conference hall of Collectorate compound to exchange preliminary suggestions for delimitation of local bodies ward of municipal area.
The meeting was presided over by district magistrate Deepak Kumar, however, chief development officer Ramswaroop and additional district magistrate Abrar Ahmad with other senior officers from Nagar Nigam were also present.
