Gupta also asked the media not to report the incident. “His life is in danger. We do not suspect anyone. Please do not report the incident. The more you report it, the more his kidnappers would know about it. My son has not done anyone any wrong. Please return him,” he said.

The police said investigations were on but refused to divulge details.

Investigators said requesting anonymity that the family had received two phone calls from the kidnappers.

They now believe the kidnappers were not first-timers, as suspected initially.
