The Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) cueist beat teammate Sourav Kothari 28-111(102), 81-16, 78-1, 84-8, 11-78, 102-35, 152(102)-0, 0-98, 98(98)-0 in the final to follow his victory in the billiards event here. The win gives him a rare hat-trick of double crowns in the nationals.

Sourav began on a high note with a break of 102 to take the first frame. But Pankaj took the next three frames, mixing safety play and sound potting, for a 3-1 lead.

Sourav took the fifth but Pankaj returned the compliment by winning the sixth for a 4-2 lead. Pankaj then came up with a superb 102 break to consolidate his lead. Sourav had the consolation of winning the next frame, but Pankaj sealed victory with a 98 break in the ninth frame.

Earlier, Maharashtra's Meenal Thakur completed her dream of winning a double in the women's category.
