Afiq Ikhwan had no challenger on Sunday. Even though the Malaysian Meritus GP Team driver took the silk route to the top spot in the concluding two races (Race 9 & 10) of the JK Asia Series here, there were many who were left licking their wounds in the Asian Festival of Speed.

The 19-year-old Malaysian carried on from where he had left on Saturday, clinching two more top spots to make a clean sweep of the Jakarta Leg with a performance which gave his rivals only despair. With another 42 points earned, he totalled a whopping 84 points.
Race 10 turned out to be a thriller, with the leader till now, Lucas Auer of Austria, skidding on the first bend of the sixth lap to fall two places — from second behind Afiq to fourth. But he made his ground after passing Akash Nandy and then regained the second spot after Malaysia’s Nabil Jeffri of Petronas Mofaz Racing committed a blunder.
