Actor Aftab Shivdasani, who desperately wanted a radical makeover, has almost gone bald for Vikram Bhatt's Red.

"I was discussing this new look with Vikram when we were doing Ankahee. I was longing to see myself in a new light. I went to hair stylist Aalim Hakim... Vikram has been very supportive and we finally implemented the look in Red. I'm in love with this new look," said Aftab.

He plays Neel Oberoi, a heart patient who falls in love with Anahita, played by Celina Jaitley.

"Red signifies anger, passion, danger and hence goes with the film. My character Neel is a passionate, intense guy. He is required to be portrayed in that light (referring to his bald look). The look compliments my character in the film. I've never played something like this before. Red was a great opportunity for me as an actor," said Aftab.

The film, which is releasing on March 2, has been described as an erotic thriller -- the Aftab-Celina lip-lock has generated enough hype already.

The actor has interesting line-up of films, including Life Mein Kabhi Kabhie, De Taali, and Speed.
