Akbar Travels had filed the petition on Monday.

Janak Dwarkadas, counsel for the ground services agency Akbar Travels, said: “We received the fax out of the blue. No notice, no hearing, nothing.”

He complained that the letter, dated March 24, was deliberately faxed on Friday. Dwarkadas added that the security clearance for the employees was extended till March 2, after Air India urged that its services would be affected.

A counsel for the Mumbai International Airports Ltd said that, “there was security threat perception” without elaborating if it applied to Akbar Travels.
