Launching an attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over their Hindutva agenda, the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) started their assembly campaign in Mumbai on Saturday.

At a public meeting at Nagpada, AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi said, “The BJP, which had just two seats in Parliament decades ago, has a majority today, thanks to their anti-minority stand. Though in power, the BJP has been a failure on all fronts in its first 100 days of governance.”

Owaisi said the Congress-NCP combine, too, has given step-motherly treatment to Muslims. “It is necessary for us to get representation in the assembly. This has been achieved in Telangana and can be replicated here too. If we win, we will hike the budget for Muslims in the state by approximately Rs. 2000 crore,” he said.
