However, the Banihal-Baramulla rail link remained suspended. Weather improved on Thursday afternoon, but meteorological department has predicted light snowfall in isolated places in Kashmir in the next 24 hours. Power supply, which had been snapped on Wednesday due to inclement weather, was also restored. "By the evening, almost 70-80 per cent of electricity was restored in south Kashmir," said an official.

"Supply to some far-flung areas in north Kashmir is yet to be restored. We are doing our best to bring back normalcy," he added. Meanwhile, all flights to and from Srinagar resumed today. On the 300-km Jammu and Srinagar highway, traffic that was held up at various sections of the highway for the past two days was allowed to move.

Snow-clearing machines were seen clearing major roads of Srinagar and other parts of the Valley to restore inter-district road connectivity and major roads. "The administration is working and doing its best," said divisional commissioner Farooq Ahmed Shah.
