Gopinath, a pioneer of low-cost air travel, is likely to contest the polls from one of the constituencies in Bangalore, sources close to him told PTI.

However, it was not immediately clear whether he would contest on a party's ticket or as an independent. He is expected to make an announcement later this afternoon.
