Speaking to reporters on the occasion of the launch of the Air-India Express from Kerala to Abu Dhabi, he said: "Right now we are operating these budget flights to the Middle East. Soon we will operate to Southeast Asia too.

"Another sector we are planning is domestic. For that, we will partner with Indian Airlines," he added.

He said the airlines' fleet strength would go up by 68 new aircraft, of which 18 would be meant for the Air-India Express.

"Once we get these aircraft, Air-India would become one of the world's best airlines."
