An Iranian airliner caught fire on landing in the northeastern city of Mashhad on Friday, killing at least 80 passengers, state television reported.

The Russian-made Tupolev, which was on an internal flight from the southern port city of Bandar Abbas, suffered a tyre burst on landing and swerved off the runway before hitting nearby barriers and bursting into flames, the television said.
