Budget carrier AirAsia India withdrew all copies of its in-flight magazine “travel3sixty” after the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) ordered the airline to do so following a complaint of wrongful depiction of the Indian map.
DGCA chief Prabhat Kumar had received a complaint on Thursday from a passenger travelling on an AirAsia India flight on the wrongful depiction of the Indian map in the airline’s in-flight magazine.
“The complaint was examined. It was found that parts of Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir had been wrongfully depicted,” an official said.
DGCA directed the airline to remove the magazine and the objectionable contents from its website by 5 pm on Thursday. “They have withdrawn the magazine, removed the content from their website and submitted an apology,” the official said.
