Aishwarya to face Baljinder in final

THE POWERFUL service and strong forehand shots of Aishwarya Agarwal was enough to beat Pooja Kudesia 6- 0 and 6-0 and enter the finals of the U-18 girls All India Junior Talent Series Tennis tournament organised by the Indore Tennis Club at their courts in the City on Thursday.

In the second semifinal match, Baljinder Kaur of Haryana had to struggle hard to beat the MP eve Anveshi Gupta 7-5 and 6-2 to clash for the title against stronghold Aishwarya Agarwal on Friday.

In the boys’ U-18 finals, it will be a Maharashtra affair as in the first semifinal, Sameer Patwardhan defeated Saurabh Singh of Delhi 6-2, 7-6 (3) and in the second semifinal match, Santhosh Ghatge easily defeated Arvind Vishnu of Andhra Pradesh 6-3 and 6-1 to enter the finals.

In the boys’ U-14 years category semifinals, the MP players Sourabh Raghvanshi and Jai Bapna lost their matches. In the first semifinal, Saurabh Singh (Delhi) beat Sourabh Rghuvanshi 6-4 and 6-0 and in the second, Maninder Singh (Haryana) thrashed Jai Bapna 6-2 and 6-0 to enter the next round.
