“Ajit Jogi jis prakar roodan kar rahe the isase aisa lagta hai ki isme kisi aur ka haath nahi Ajit Jogi ka shadyantra dikh raha hai (The manner in which Ajit Jogi has been shedding crocodile tears, it appears that no one else had a hand in it but Jogi)”, said Tomar, addressing the state BJP’s executive committee members in his address at the Mela Ground here on Thursday. The remark generated much political heat in Raipur, where Jogi reportedly threatened to sue Tomar if he didn’t tender an apology.

In his speech, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan too did not spare the Congress. “I have never seen such dirty politics before,” he said.

BJP’s MP party affairs in-charge Ananth Kumar too defended Tomar’s remarks. Ananth said there’s a big question in the minds of people as to how MLA Kavasi Lakhma got out of the attack with – “with God’s grace or somebody else’s grace?” Questions are being asked as to where Ajit Jogi was (at the time of the attack), he said.
