Akshay Kumar is sporting a new look these days: short hair and a beard. And no, it’s not his response to the Mumbai summer – he’s done it for Yashraj Films’ Tashan, for which he started shooting from the first of this month at Film City.

The film also stars Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor, both of whom are expected to join the shoot nextweek.

A source tells us Kumar has decided to do only one film at a time. The actor recently completed shooting on both Heyy Babyy and Bhool Bhulaiyya.

“It’s his new resolution. He wants to give bulk dates to each film so it can be completed in one stretch. He shoots for Tashan in the night while during the day, he’s busy dubbing for Heyy Babyy or Bhool Bhulaiya,” says the source.

Once the Tashan shoot is complete, Kumar will reportedly start work on Vipul Shah’s next film, Singh the King, to be directed by Anees Bazmee.

Singh the King is expected to go on the floors sometime in September as Kumar wants to keep himself free for the promotion of Heyy Babyy, which is scheduled to release in August,” says the source. While the schedule is expected to begin in September, its leading lady has not been finalised yet.

“Deepika has a double role in it. And one of her characters will have lots of stunt work,” stated the source.
