Talking to reporters at the Chennai airport before leaving for Delhi, Alagiri said the DMK Chief and his father M Karunanidhi had already replied on the reports of his threat to resign.

Alagiri said he was not in the habit of asking for party position but if he was given any post, he would definitely accept it and do his best for the party.

Asked whether any DMK nominee would be inducted in the proposed expansion and reshuffle of the union ministry, Alagiri shot back, "Am I the Prime Minister to talk about cabinet berths for the DMK".

He also made it clear that he had not demanded party action against former Telecom Minister A Raja for his alleged role in the 2G spectrum allocation scam.
