Alfonso Thomas is a bustling pace bowler and a stroke-playing lower-order batsman. He is one of the most consistent young bowlers on the South African domestic circuit.

He has the ability to swing the ball both out and in, as well as having very good abilities at reverse swinging the old cricket ball, possibly a reason why the youngster was selected to for the India tour.

Thomas is also a very decent batsman, nothing extravagent and spectacular, but is able to score runs, and can certainly make a contribution with the bat in the India series.
