I beg to differ with Vir Sanghvi when he says “the BJP got it all wrong when it wooed the middle class, but forgot the aam aadmi”. Forgetting the middle class proved to be their nemesis.

Aren’t ‘secularism’ and ‘democracy’ the very imperfections professed falsely as luxuries in the developed countries most of whom are just theocratic states?

Wit of the matter

With reference to Karan Thapar’s The art of being witty (Sunday Sentiments, 11 March), let me share a quote by Dr Samuel Johnson. He told an upcoming author: “Your book is both original and readable; but what is original is not readable, what is readable is not original”!

Living on the edge

This refers to The Big Story (Less than nine lives, 11 March). I am sure there is huge manipulation going on in all surveys pertaining to Indian big cats. It’s even sadder when we realise that the matter has been closely monitored by the PM.
