However, chief security commissioner (NR) A Mishra has denied any hostility between the two security agencies and said that the committee would be of great help.

Other members of the committee are; principal secretary (home), additional director general (railways), additional director general (law and order), additional director general (intelligence), RPF (chief security commissioner- NER), chief security commissioner North Central Railways, DRM NER Banaras division, DRM NER Lucknow division, DRM ECR Mugalsarai, DRM Moradabad and Lucknow. The committee will meet once in two months and chalk out a plan for security of passengers.

Meanwhile, addressing the media persons, DRM (NR) R K Gupta said that the security was intensified in the wake of the recent serial blasts in Mumbai. He said that metal detectors and door metal detectors were installed and a few had been ordered. Since Lucknow and Banaras were the two most sensitive railway stations in the Lucknow division, special efforts were made to beef up the security.
