Whoever forces us to end the blockade will meet his end here, thunders 25-year-old, Padam Gujjar as he patrols the Sikandra Chowk area on the Jaipur-Agra highway on Saturday.

Sikandra Chowk is where the Gujjars are in absolute control. They have blocked the highway with two burnt buses. Each time a vehicle approaches, hundreds of Gujjars, armed with iron rods, sticks and knives, approach it menacingly.

"The Meenas have threatened that thousands of them would storm this place. Let them come, we are prepared," said Padam.
And the Gujjars are indeed well-equipped.

Padam took us to the first floor of a nearby building. Lined up inside are bottles filled with petrol and acid.

"We have got hundreds of these. The ones with petrol can be used as bombs. Besides this, we have rifles, country-made pistols and huge stones. We can engage them for days as the area is surrounded by hundreds of Gujjar villages," said Raj Gujjar.

Gujjars have divided themselves in groups to patrol the area during the day and at night.

“The idea is to take up strategic positions to target them. Once we rain stones and petrol bombs, they will have no option but to retreat," he said.
