GOVERNOR DR Balram Jakhar said on Tuesday that all religions preach love and brotherhood and teach the basic of 'live and let live'. Since God made all people, there is no difference between people, he said, while addressing a Christmas gathering at the BSSS. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also attended the programme.
International athlete Shaili Thomas was also felicitated on the occasion. Dr Jakhar said that Jesus Christ gave the message of peace and love and the same message has been given by all religions. The religions also preach that every human being should behave properly with everyone around and that there is no place for hatred.
Chouhan said that God is one although the ways of reaching him might be different. Proximity to God could be achieved in different ways and one should take up the way that one finds easy. India has considered the entire country as one big family. It is a secular nation and there is no discrimination between any religions, he added.
Chouhan also said that everyone should think of making the world a better place, not disturb the nature and make people happy. Mayor Sunil Sood, Archbishop Dr Pascal Topno, chairman of district panchayat Chetan Patidar, Swami Atmalokanand, Haji Haroon, Gyani Dilip Singh and members of different communities were present in large numbers.
