Expressing his views on this occasion district magistrate Dr Hariom warned the employees of stringent action against laxity in duty. Dr Hariom directed the subordinate officials to intensify patrolling in their allotted zones. Zonal magistrates and police officials would maintain strict vigil at the polling stations.

The district administration also directed to close liquor shops on October 30 and 31 to check any untoward incident. The border of the district will be sealed on the polling day and party MLAs will be restricted to their localities.

Meanwhile, campaigning entered the final phase on Saturday and BSP mayoral candidate Chhedi Jaiswal was a much relieved man after independent candidate Pawan Kumar decided to extend his support to Chhedi Jaiswal.

Talking to mediapersons, Jaiswal claimed he was enjoying the support of every section of the society and people were in favour of change. They had realised the worth of BSP leader Mayawati and would vote in favour of the BSP, he said.
