All set to welcome 2006

Preparations are in full swing to welcome the new year. As the city is flooded with tourists, hotels are offering attractive packages to lure them. A number of makeshift shops of greeting cards have been set up in the main markets, including Lanka, Godowlia, Sonarpura and Maidagin. One can see a large number of people selecting greeting cards for their friends.

A number of makeshift shops of greeting cards have been set up in the main markets, including Lanka, Godowlia, Sonarpura and Maidagin. One can see a large number of people selecting greeting cards for their friends.The celebrations will start from 8 pm on Saturday. Hotel Radisson has arranged a special party for customers on new year’s eve. Executive manager of the food and beverage section of the hotel Saurabh Kumar said special arrangements had been made for couples. They would enjoy band music and good food in Jasmine Hall of the hotel, he said.

He further said two more music functions would be organised at the hotel’s Mirchi Masala restaurant and coffee shop. The entry fee per couple is Rs 1500.

Similarly, Hotel Taj and Clarks have also made unique arrangements to bid adieu to 2005.
