The Allahabad High Court on Thursday directed authorities to release 450 cusecs of water in the Ganges as per its earlier order.

The court adjourned till February 8, hearing on a public interest petition on pollution in the river.

A two-judge bench comprising Chief Justice AN Ray and Justice Ashok Bhusan adjourned the hearing.
The petition alleged that there was a shortage of water in the Ganges during the 'Magh Mela' and that the water was polluted.
