Allenganj residents protest ANN ?double standards?

As the residents woke up this morning they suddenly found the NN bulldozers removing ramps and stairs built over drains in Allenganj. During one hour’s operation nearly 20 ramps were removed by ANN squad before residents expressed their ire against the pick and choose method adopted during the drive.

Several residents alleged that similar encroachment by influential persons, including political leaders, were not touched by the ANN squad during today’s drive. ANN squad when came to know that ramp of one Congress MLA’s house was damaged then they started repairing it immediately. Considering the protest lodged by the residents, the ANN squad halted the drive mid-way and returned.

Earlier, all illegal constructions erected on the roadside of Hashimpur Road were removed by the ANN squad this morning.

To recall, the encroachment drive is being carried out as per directive of the Allahabad High Court. Meanwhile fingers are being raised over the double standards being adopted by the ANN administration in removing the illegal constructions.

A section of ANN officials too feel that there was intervention by political parties and influential persons in carrying out the encroachment drive.
