Day after Himachal Pradesh High Court rejected bail four medical student of Dr Rajendra Prasad Medical College Tanda, accused for ragging death of first year student Aman Satya Kachroo, on Thursday surrendered before Additional Session Judge Dharamsala.
All the four Ajay Verma, Naveen Verma, Abhinav Verma and Mukul Sharma accused in ragging death case, arrived at court premises , as per the directions of the Himachal Pradesh High court. The four were sent to district jail Dharamsala by Additional and Session Judge Rajeev Bhardwaj.
The proceedings in the court lasted for more than three hours. The four accused were earlier scheduled to surrender at the fast track court in Dharamsala, since the Presiding officer Purinder Vaidya was on leave, the four surrendered before Additional and Session Judge Rajeev Bhardwaj. The judge read out the decision of High court to reject the bail granted to the four accused in ragging death by fast track court in Dharamsala.
High Court had taken suo - moto notice of media reports highlighting the bail granted to four by the fast track court in Dharamsala.
The HC said on Wednesday that the bail granted by the fast-track court of Dharamsala on July 17 was against the law. Allfour had been in custody for 16 months.

{{/usCountry}}Justice D D Sud observed, "The trial court ignores that three (Naveen, Abhinav and Mukul) of the accused are also involved in other criminal cases."
The single-member High Court Bench also directed the accused to surrender at the fast-track court on Thursday.
The accused Ajay Verma, Naveen Verma, Abhinav Verma and Mukul Sharma, were charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder, on July 17.
Nineteen year old Aman Satya Kachroo was beaten up by four senior students on March 7 2009, along with his other classmates at boys' hostel in Dr Rajendra Prasad Medical College. Aman Kachroo died next day, after he was hospitalised for treating his injuries.
Autopsy report ascertained multiple injuries as the cause for death.

Aman's death had lead to nationwide uproars, the Supreme Court had asked the Raghvan panel members to ascertain the cause of death of Aman. Members of Medical Council of India visited separately to look into the veracity of ragging incidents in the medical college. The state government had ordered a magisterial probe to ascertain the cause of death.
State government had also passed the anti raging act, providing stringent punishment for the offenders.
