Seeking to give a new twist to the Amar Singh phone-tapping case, Maharashtra Congress spokesman Sanjay Nirupam on Tuesday asked the Delhi police to come out with details of the pages of the conversation tapped from Amar Singh's phone seeking to know whether it included a plot to kill a prominent minority politician in western UP.

"The tapes of phone calls intercepted at Amar Singh's residence include details about the plot to kill a prominent minority leader of the Samajwadi Party of western Uttar Pradesh and something about the Krishnanand Rai murder case," Nirupam told reporters in New Delhi.

He also asked the Delhi Police to make the tapes of the conversation public in "national interest."

"We are not interested in the personal, private life of Amar Singh. We are concerned about the threat to some politicians and bureaucrats named in the tapes," he said claiming that the demand to make the tapes public was consistent with the Congress party's stand on the issue.
