He would also strive hard to keep the SP away from power in Uttar Pradesh, Amar Singh told a meeting, organised by the Bhartiya Samaj Party, in Jaunpur.

"I will not allow the SP supremo to become the UP CM again and to keep the SP away from power in the state, I will try to forge an alliance of political parties," he said.

Pitching for a Poorvanchal state, the creation of which was opposed by the SP, the expelled leader said he was ready to sacrifice his life for the cause.

He said Mulayam and his son Akhilesh were against the formation of Poorvanchal state.

"I will fight for creation of a separate Poorvanchal state to be carved out of Uttar Pradesh and if the cause requires my life I am ready to sacrifice my life."
