Rajnath charged the Centre with raking up the land transfer issue to divert the attention of common people.

“This is a part of a larger conspiracy hatched by the Congress government at the Centre to hoodwink the people of Jammu and Kashmir who are going to take part in the coming electoral process in the state. The entire process of land transfer and its revocation was a strategy of the Central government that was cleverly executed in the state by the Congress and the PDP,” he said.

Addressing the media here, Rajnath said the Amarnath shrine and the yearly pilgrimage to it is "a link that binds the entire country with Kashmir into one String”.

He said, "A deliberate attack has been made by the leaders of fundamentalist mindset to cut it on communal lines for their respective vote-banks. I hold the Congress as the main culprit in promoting the communal flare-up among the peace-loving people of Jammu.”

He said the "communal leaders at the helm” are sabotaging the issue for vote-banks and expressed his gratitude to Muslims for maintaining communal harmony.
