Charging the cops with attempting to sidetrack the main issue, Kavita said her mother-in-law actually told her that it was Amit Singh who shot at her. She said it was strange that despite knowing the actual story, the cops were unwilling to act against Singh. Mehar's daughter from her first marriage, Faraha, too told HT the same thing. "My mother told me from her hospital bed that it was Amit Singh who shot at her," she said.
