It's fast becoming the talk of the town. We are talking about the hot affair between Bollywood actor Amrita Arora and the London-based cricketer Usmaan Afzal.
According to her Afzal is a man rather than a boy and this is one factor which makes her affair solid and "ever-lasting". Says Amrita, "What attracted me towards him is his maturity. I find him to be a responsible, considerate, confident and ambitious person in life.
"In our case it’s not just looks which is a binding factor. We are bound together by mental cohesiveness and a mature decision. Such affairs have little chance of going awry.”
Ask her how it all started and she says, “It was not love or attraction at first sight. It’s a good friendship which turned smoothly and gradually into a love affair. I met him via Arbaaz who is a cricket buff. I found him to be a person worth having as a friend. By and by, before I could realize, we became lovers. But still today we are friends first and lovers later. I believe this is the success mantra for any affair. We never impose our views or suggestions on each other. There is always a sense of security,” she says happily.
And how would she feel about other women trying to woo her man? Amrita is clear on this issue. She says, “I know he is handsome and there may be other women trying to grab his attention, but I believe that love happens with one person only. In our case I am for him and he is for me.
"We both love each other so and give so much of space that there is hardly anything which can create a fissure in our relationship.”
