FORMER DEAN of Education faculty in Banaras Hindu University Prof Rajeshwar Upadhyay stressed the need to establish an ideal Indian Education System for an all round development of society and nation.
Addressing the annual day celebrations of the Education faculty of BHU in Kamachcha area here on Tuesday, Prof Upadhyay also discussed the main qualities of an ideal student and teacher.
He said that each person should understand his responsibility and subsequently act to discharge the same in an effective manner. He also threw light on merits and demerits of the present education system.Presiding over the annual function celebrations, Banaras Hindu University rector Prof Srikant Lele said teachers were the architects of the society.
He added the Education faculty was wholeheartedly shouldering its responsibility to create ideal teachers in unique way. Dean of Education faculty, Prof SB Bhattacharya presented the annual report of faculty whereas Prof Harish Chandra Singh Rathore welcomed the guests.
Prof BD Singh proposed the vote of thanks. Dr Anjali Bajpai conducted the programme. The prize distribution ceremony was organised for sports and cultural activities. A cultural programme was also organised. Member in National Council for Teachers’ Education Prof SN Singh, Prof Kamla Rai, Prof Vijay Bahadur Pathak, Prof Asha Pandey, Prof PC Shukla, Dr Tulsi, Dr Geeta Rai, Dr Sudha Melhotra and Dr Purnima Varshney were also present.
