District Collector Vivek Aggarwal announced this after a meeting held at the Collectorate yesterday. It was decided in the meeting that no animals would be permitted to be included in the processions. Special police officers would patrol around the City and keep watch on the anti-social elements.

The ‘Akhadas’ accompanying the procession would not be allowed to exhibit fire tricks or shows with sharp weapons. The members of Akhada must not consume alcoholic drinks before or during the procession. Also, obscene pictures and songs would not be played in the programme.

Aggarwal directed the police officers to mark the dangerous buildings and restrict crowds from entering such places that fall on the procession route. He asked the SP and SDM to hold a meeting with the heads of Akhadas or committees displaying their tableaux in the procession and inform them about the regulations.

MLA Usha Thakur, members of Peace Committee and other officials participated in the meeting.
