And, as we say Alvida Ramzan...

THE DAY starts with bed tea, then regular breakfast, lunch at the fixed hour, evening tea, snacks at the call, the regular dinner, the post-dinner coffee and the day consummates. Life is comfortable. It must be comfortable for others too?that is how the heart thinks.

You don’t know this is a case of coloured vision unless you are observing roza. As the evening grows, deadly fires of hunger engulf the outer and inner crust.

The deep thirst down the throat seeks vengeance with water. At last there is iftar. You break the chains of thirst and hunger. You know what the food and water means to a deprived soul.

In a developed world, hunger is still a reality. Potable water is still a massive problem. You really think at only roza break time what they suffer from who don’t have two square meals and the clean water to drink. And they have no iftar parties to attend.

Hunger is very, very painful. Thirst is more so. The reality dawns on you. I am lucky to have two square meals. One half of the humanity is not so lucky.

God be thanked endlessly even for the bare food and water, let alone the fat salary, nice sarkari bungalow, the perks, the status and other things. If you know the hunger, rests don’t matter.
