Jaya Vindyala, who is a member of human rights organisation People's Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL), was arrested in Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh.

The advocate was booked under Section 66A of the IT Act and was remanded to 14 days’ judicial custody.

Police said MLA A Krishna Mohan of Prakasam district had lodged a complaint on April 18 against Vindyala, stating that she had accused him on Facebook of being a paedophile. Vindyala also alleged that Mohan was misusing his proximity to Rosaiah and was engaged in the land mafia.

Meanwhile, Mohan has accused the PUCL of trying to tarnish his image.
